OwnerTags provides a privacy-first way for people to contact an item or property owner. By using OwnerTags, you agree to the terms below.

What OwnerTags is

OwnerTags is a communication service that enables private contact between a finder and an owner when an item is found or something needs attention.

In certain cases, OwnerTags may assist in coordinating return logistics through independent third-party shipping or fulfillment providers. OwnerTags does not take possession of items, does not insure items unless explicitly stated, and does not guarantee the recovery or return of any item.

Responsibility for packaging, shipment, and the condition of returned items remains with the sender and applicable shipping providers.

Eligibility and use

You may use OwnerTags only for legitimate, lawful purposes — such as contacting an owner about a found item or notifying them of a situation that requires attention.

  • Do not misuse the service to harass, spam, or deceive others.
  • Do not attempt to extract or infer personal information beyond what is intentionally shared.
  • Do not use OwnerTags for unlawful, harmful, or abusive activity.

Finder and owner interactions

OwnerTags facilitates communication and may assist in coordinating return logistics. Owners and finders are responsible for the accuracy of information they provide, for the proper packaging and shipment of items, and any decisions made in connection with returning an item. OwnerTags relies on information provided by users and does not independently verify the accuracy of user-supplied information.

Return logistics

If an owner elects to use OwnerTags to assist with return shipping, the service may coordinate shipment through independent third-party shipping or fulfillment providers.

Shipping costs, insurance, and related fees are the responsibility of the owner unless otherwise stated. Once an item is transferred to a shipping carrier or fulfillment provider, that provider is solely responsible for handling, delivery, and transit.

OwnerTags is not responsible for loss, theft, delay, or damage occurring during shipment.

Communications and SMS

If you opt in, OwnerTags may send you messages related to your account, tag scan notifications, service updates, or item-related communications via email or SMS. Message frequency may vary.

  • SMS participation is optional and requires explicit opt-in.
  • Message may inlclude:
    • Notifications when someone scans your OwnerTag
    • Alerts when a contact session is initiated
    • Messages related to coordinating the return of a tagged item
    • Optional service announcements or updates if subscribed
  • You can opt out of SMS at any time by replying STOP to any OwnerTags message.
  • Standard messaging and data rates may apply.

Pre-release status

OwnerTags may be offered in pre-release or limited-availability form. Features may change, be added, or be removed as the service evolves.

Limitations and disclaimers

OwnerTags is provided on an “as-is” and “as-available” basis. We make no guarantees that an item will be found, returned, delivered on time, or delivered in original condition.

OwnerTags is not responsible for loss, theft, damage, delay, or misdelivery of items during shipment. Shipping carriers operate independently and are solely responsible for delivery once an item is in transit.

Delivery of messages or notifications may be delayed or unsuccessful due to carrier, network, or technical factors outside OwnerTags’ control.

OwnerTags is not responsible for the conduct of users or third-party service providers.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, OwnerTags is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from use of the service.

Privacy

Your use of OwnerTags is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect and use information.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we’ll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of OwnerTags means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the state in which OwnerTags operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.

OwnerTags is a DBA of Mana’o Ventures. The legal entity responsible for data processing and compliance is Mana’o Ventures, LLC. All references to ‘we’, ‘us’, or ‘our’ in this policy refer to Mana’o Ventures, LLC, doing business as OwnerTags.
